Adult Education
Prince of Peace offers the following programs for adult
education:
- Catholicism Revisited
This new 6-week series provides an opportunity for adult
Catholics to take another look at their faith. The series
will be facilitated by Ginger Kroos in Conference Room #2 on
Wednesday evenings, October 15 through November 19, from
7:00—8:30 pm.
The sessions will be repeated on Thursday mornings, from
9:00—10:30 am,
October 16 through November 20. The topic for the first week
will be, “Our Image of God—Has it Changed?” There will be a
balance of discussion and teaching as well as some exercises
to participate in. There is no charge for the sessions, but
donations will be appreciated. To register, please call
Ginger, at 913-707-3048.
- Adult Bible Study was formed to provide an opportunity for adults of our parish to participate in Bible study within our Catholic faith. Through personal study, small-group
discussion, lecture, and prayer, the program provides a solid balance of scholarship, reflection, and application. We welcome those who have never studied the Bible before and those who have been reading the Bible for quite a while. Each study will be four to twelve weeks in length and will be announced in the bulletin.
- JustFaith - A thirty-week adult educational and formational program offering an opportunity for parishioners to experience a spiritual journey into compassion.
- Institute of Religious Studies
(IRS) - A cooperative effort between Benedictine College and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
Courses draw on the deep riches of Catholic tradition
to develop an understanding of Catholic faith and theology, encourage spiritual growth and
enable ministerial competence.
- School of Faith - A program of catechesis and Catholic formation created in response to John Paul II's call within the "New Evangelization" to help both university students and Catholic adults deepen their faith.
We also offer Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
for adults interested in the Catholic faith.
