StaffMartha Tady Sponsors & Team Members NeededNo experience is necessary just a willingness to share your time and faith with others. As a team member of RCIA you must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic adult and who would like to continue your own faith journey by supporting those adults interested in joining the Catholic Church. The RCIA classes are held on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm . These classes run from approximately August through May. Each week a new subject of the Catholic Doctrine is taught by various presenters and team members. Though your commitment of becoming a part of this team, you will help provide a comfortable and welcoming environment as well as building community for those entering the Church. Please contact Martha Tady of the Christian Formation Office at 829-1147. more...

Christian Initiation
Read more... Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)This process is an adaptation of a process used in the early Church for those who wished to become members of the faithful. In the early Church, a candidate, seeking entrance into the community of the Church, would pass through several stages of preparation before entering fully into the community. The Church today has reached back to its roots in its desire to properly prepare adults seeking to share in the community of the Church. In planning the ritual for the various steps on the journey into full communion with the Church, the Church also looks for a renewal within the community, preparing itself to receive this new member. While the candidate is making his or her spiritual journey into the community, the community is urged to renew its commitment in faith and love to Christ and his gospel. The RCIA entails commitment to a period of study of the Catholic faith during which the individual discerns the call to join the Catholic faith community. This program prepares one for full initiation into the Church. The initiation is not an end in itself nor is it presumed to be at the onset. RCIA is a focused experience of the ever-deepening journey into the life of faith which is the task of a life time. Sessions are held on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm and are open to all adults interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, including Catholics!
