The purpose of the Techno-Bowl is to integrate technology within the everyday curriculum and classroom. The units designed and showcased within the Techno-Bowl website have been created to engage students in higher-level cognitive skills. Students will research a topic, create a report and then showcase the report with presentation software.
This past year technology teachers throughout the Archdiocese got together and completed a comprehensive technology curriculum. The Computer Technology Subject Area Committee (SAC) has prepared this document for implementation in Kindergarten through Eighth grade in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The goal of the curriculum is to instill essential technical skills needed for life-long learning while maintaining high standards of Catholic education. The curriculum includes a scope and sequence outlining what grade appropriate concepts your child should know. Although I think we do a pretty good job of covering the basics of technology, I will begin to incorporate this curriculum into my lesson plans.
