CYO Basketball Information
The following information is important for CYO basketball
participation
this year.
Player Sign Ups: Monday, October 19, 7:00–8:30
pm, SMT Hall
Parents must sign up children for CYO basketball at this time.
Fees
and a uniform deposit will be collected.
All children participating in CYO activities must also sign up
online at
www.cyojwa.org. Select the link “Click Here for CYO Online
Registration” and enter the appropriate information. If your
child has already completed online registration for football or
volleyball, he/she does NOT have to register online again for
basketball. However, all participants must sign the hard copy
Prince of Peace registration forms available at
http://www.popsports.org. The CYO online registration is $20
and is payable via credit card. By registering online, fees for
each individual sporting activity is reduced $10 per sport.
Therefore, basketball fees for 2009-2010 are $110 for one child;
$200 for two children; $280 for three children. A $40 deposit
per uniform is required via a separate check that will be
returned when uniforms are returned at the end of the year.
Coaches Meeting: Thursday, October 22, 7:30–8:30
pm, SMT Hall
Coaches will review league rules, gym procedures, and practice
schedules. Head assistant coaches should make every effort to
attend. Head and assistant coaches must be Virtus
trained, while head coaches must attend a diocese rules meeting
and be NYSCA certified.
Team Formation Dates:
Teams will be formed through an evaluation of coaches from other
grades. Students should wear basketball shoes and be dressed in
athletic attire. Those who miss formation sessions will be
placed on a team at the discretion of the basketball coordinator
and/or athletic director. Prine of Peace CYO has the option of
